Art Classes
There are 2 groups of "Arty Gems" – the first started in February 2022, and the second in January 2023, to accommodate all those who had heard about how much fun the first group were having and were interested in finding their own 'artistic side'. There are usually about 15 in the first group and 8 in the second group and the majority have never picked up a paintbrush since Primary School. So far they have explored Water colours, Acrylics and Pastels and are about to embark on portraits using lead pencil, charcoal and pen & wash. The second group will follow the same path.
Jude plans the lessons, advises on materials (keeping costs down as much as possible) supply the images and demonstrate techniques necessary for a successful outcome. Members share their work at the end of the lessons and encourage each other with positive comments. It is hoped to start on some outdoor sketching as well as visiting Art galleries.
Jude has been a teacher for 40 years, but only started her own Artistic journey in 2014, when she retired. She joined various U3A classes and became inspired to develop any latent artistic skill, and now has even enrolled in 'Art School' once a week!
Jude just loves passing on to others the joy of being creative.
